This is one of the best free hosts ever. I've been using it for sometime for many of my sites.
I've never had any big problems with this host faster then many other free hosts and have not seen it down so far.
The only bad thing is the database space. It's only 10MB big as on most other free hosts. So the host is not good for forums or other things that need a big database.
The disk space is 150MB and 4GB monthly traffic. File size limit is 500kb.
You can host 1 domains on this host and 2 subdomains (yourname.host-ed.net).
It's very easy to use this host. Only a few clicks and you have your site up and running. I really recommend it for people who don't have enough money to pay a host.

Host-ed.net is perfect with me.
i did try a few others like 700megs but was disappointed by the servers going down ever so often no such things with Host-ed.net

Awesome service these guys are providing! I'm a student designer doing some freelance work, so did not want to pay for web hosting service. Highly recommended.

I am also a user of host-ed.net and 100% agree with all the reviews here. It is a good quality service and some times I wonder how do they manage to offer such a service for free.

I discovered Host-ed while I was crawling the web for a free web hosting solution that provided all the functionality I was looking for. Host-ed offered me PHP, MySQL and more than enough space and bandwidth I need to run my site. While I realize that it may not be for everyone, they have been more than enough to meet my needs, and I have since moved by other site there as well. Drawbacks include the fact that you can only host two domain names per account; but you are not paying for this service at all! Host-ed doesn't even post ads on your site, and you are allowed to run your own ads as well. In my 4 months of using Host-ed, I have only seen my site go down once for about 5 minutes, not bad for free hosting, and their connection speed as been pretty good.

I was looking for a free reliable host service to test some scripts.
After trying many others (although some of them were not bad at all, they always lacked something I really needed) I finally came in acquaintance with host-ed.net .
Well, they really got it all.
Now, with those scripts finally working 100% the next obvious step was to buy one hosting account.
What was great turned even better (In my case almost unlimited resources and plenty of great easy to install scripts).
I really recommend Host-ed.net. You've got nothing to loose.
ahh... by the way: after purchasing my account I received a phone call to inform that my account was already activated. I'm from Portugal and I am an usual e-buyer (objects, domains, host services and so on), I can tell that this was the first time that someone has ever called after buying something. That's what I call "Customer service".

The service is great indeed if only it had PHP mails function enabled. I have contacted them and they told me that it sending emails is disabled for security reasons and namely to prevent spam. Probably I would upgrade to a premium plan with mail function enabled.

Very nice hosting I have recommended it to a few friends of mine and they are also satisfied

Here is a word from a very satisfied customer of host-ed.net. I am using a paid account with them and I must admit that the performance is very good and it just not match any other hosting plan I have used before. The customer service is good and they treat you with respect no matter you ask a silly question or something more complex. The uptime is good I've been with them for 10 months and I haven't noticed any down time yet. The prices are reasonable. At the end all I can say is that I am 100% satisfied with the service.

It's just amazing what free hostings can offer nowadays and even without annoying ads all over around. 10/10 to this great service HOST-ED.NET offers.
Technical support answered my ticket right away with a quick solution to my problem, surprising in a free service at least for me. Uptime and connection are just great, I repeat that I never thought I could find a hosting of this characteristics for free... Please keep it this way, you are going great! I completely recommend this to all those who don't want to waste time/money anymore, HOST-ED.NET is the solution

It is a very good solution for free. I can tell you that it could be the best. Server reliability should be a bit higher, but it is OK. No ads. The control panel is quite user friendly and easy-to-use. It is also easy to use domain and subdomain settings. The storage size is (now) enough but sooner or later it should be bigger or I would have to upgrade. I can use it for WordPress blogging using Msyql database easily. It has many other features that I should try in the near future.

This host is offline:
I'm sorry to tell you that 1Freeweb.com will no longer provide web hosting service. Many things happened in the past 30 days - family illness, surgery, economic crisis etc etc... I really don't want to put a stop on this, especially when I knew I put so much efforts, but this website draws too much attention from me and this is something that I cannot afford right now.
As I promised to many of you, if 1freeweb.com is out of business I'll give you a notice. So when you read this, PLEASE backup your website RIGHT NOW. Use FTP, or the backup feature in cPanel to create a copy of your website.
Good luck w/ finding your next host. If you can't here is my recommendation:
http://awardspace.com/ no posting required, but doesn't offer you much space and bandwidth, NOT cpanel
http://lifelesspeople.com/hosting/ - required posting

The PHP service runs well, and the control panel has a nice set of options, but the downtime is entirely unacceptable. In the week that I've used them, the server (as a whole, not just my subdomain) has been unavailable more than 50% of the time. But, it's a free service, so no big loss. I'm just waiting for it to come back online so I can retrieve my files!!
