I register my domain with DotEasy during one of their promos last year. I think it’s $5.95 for the 1st year. With such a low price I thought I would give it a try and if I don’t like their service, I will either transfer it to another domain registrar or simply let the domain expire. The domain purchase actually came with a basic hosting account which is sufficient enough for my blog, so I didn’t purchase any additional web hosting account. I don’t really recall any major downtime.

With such a low domain price, I never expected they would even have telephone support (also available in live chat and email support). Their tech support staffs are helpful and patient. So I am happy with them and will probably renew with them this year. IMO, $25/yr (their regular domain registration fee) is reasonable given that they already include the hosting fees.

I am very satisfied with DotEasy and I don’t know why there are people complaining about them violating ICANN policy. If those domain transfer fee violates ICANN policies, I guess they are out of the industry. LOL

Doteasy engages in illegal billing and business practices. They will charge your cancelled account without consent. They do not follow ICANN policies be warned. I worked there, and I was DISGUSTED at how I had to lie to customers and basically make excuses on why we cannot transfer their domain name.

If a customer changes their contact information on the domain, they cannot transfer the domain away from Doteasy until after 60 days. So basically, you are FORCED to renew with Doteasy. If you want to transfer your domain name before expiry, they will keep the ball rolling until it expires, and then tell you it has expired, so you cant transfer it and you are required to renew, which is a 60 day lock.

If you attempt to dispute charges via your bank. They WILL charge you a hosting chargeback fee.

Be warned and stay the hell away from Doteasy / In2Net / Dollarhost (they are all the same company).
